Magaluf - What is it really like?

My experience in Magaluf!

So me and my friends spent ages trying to think of a good place to go on our first 'girls holiday' and we thought of going to Magaluf! I'd never really heard much about the place or what goes on there so this seemed like a really good idea.. so we booked it for 9th of May 2013 for 10 nights.. We picked a hotel which was pretty central to everything and also opposite Mallorca Rocks which is one of the main hotels in Magaluf. Our hotel was called the 'Fiesta Sahara' Hotel.

I am the type of girl that doesn't like to drink that much.. But I can enjoy a good night out at a club with my friends so I thought I could handle Magaluf even though I'm not a big drinker. When we first arrived at our hotel we were given a pint of cider and were made to go to a 'welcome meeting' presented by the reps.. even though we had been travelling all night and were extremely hungry the last thing we wanted to be doing was listening to a bunch of reps talk a lot of crap. The reps tried to make us pay £250 euros each to go on their themed nights out which included foam parties and free bar parties and they explained how we could get absolutely wasted at each one and 'get a cheap shag' as they called it. As we had just got there and didn't quite know what to expect we turned this offer down and went to check out our room.. It was better than I thought after reading some of the reviews on the hotel and I really liked the view of the pool. In my opinion buying tickets for the whole week is not a good idea and you should just choose a few to go on and then do your own thing on some nights as there is so much to explore in Magaluf you don't want to organise what you are going to do in the first hour of being there before you have even seen anything!

The Strip
Our first night out on the strip was quite an experience! You get attacked my club promoters every 5 seconds who practically beg you to go into their club and will offer you absolutely anything so you will go in and will not take no for an answer. At first, I thought it was pretty funny when extremely good looking promoters were chatting us up and having a laugh with us but when it was every few seconds it began to get extremely annoying.. as the week went on I learnt that ignoring them was the best thing to do unless you actually want to go into the club. Bare in mind that if you go to the beach you will also get attacked by people trying to sell you tickets and these people will try so hard to get you to buy them.. we ended up just making excuses so they would go away.. This began to get SO annoying through out the week. The strip is certainly what everybody says.. It is clubbers paradise. There are 1000's of clubs and it is so hard to choose which one to go into! There are drunk people every where and the "lucky lucky men" that try and sell you sunglasses and other stuff.. Do stay away from those! One of the nights we decided to go to the "foam party" Club crawl with our hotel reps which was actually a really good night. The foam party was at the 'carwash' club and I'd really recommend this club, it was certainly my favourite one out of the ones we went too! The foam party was out of this world and more insane than anything I'd ever been to in England. I'd also recommend cocobongo's which is situated at the end of the strip (opposite McDonalds) this is a good place for pre drinks and reminded me a lot of Yates's.. It plays good music and is a good way to start the night!  If you love clubbing and drinking then the strip will be like paradise to you and you will have such a GOOD time! I'd also recommend 'pirates reloaded' for a good night out.. This is an acrobats show and it was actually really entertaining, plus you get free drinks!

Restaurants
There is one restaurant that is just perfect for anybody to goes to Magaluf.. that is 'Tom Browns!' It is situated at the end of the strip by Mcdonalds and near Mallorca Rocks. Luckily for us this was just down the road for us.. It is perfect and is REALLY cheap! It also has free wifi which i also really liked. There is also Mcdonalds next door and a Subway down the road!

Our hotel was not the best hotel at all.. I would only advise staying at some where like Mallorca Rocks. The security was really poor at our hotel and one of the nights we had people fighting down our corridor who were smashing glasses down the corridor and we had glass go under our door! This was actually a really scary moment for us as it wasn't sorted out at all. But who actually goes to Magaluf to sleep? I guess not a lot of people! On the other hand, the pool was decent and they played good songs all the way through the day! It was also a cheap hotel so if you can stand the noise and stupid teenage boys then maybe the Fiesta Sahara might not be as bad for you.. but Mallorca Rocks certainly looks a lot more appealing.

If you are going to Magaluf this year.. Be prepared! Beware of all the annoying promoters as these are so annoying and a lot try and rip you off and try and 'chat you up' just so you will buy their stuff.. just say NO and run. Also be aware of the 'lucky lucky' men as they are called.. You will know what I mean when you are there. If you are going on a girls holiday be prepared to get chatted up by looooooads of boys. The place is full of them! Also..take advantage of the free bars because that never happens in England now does it!?

Please let me know how your experience was in Magaluf in the comments section or let me know if you are going this year! I would really like to know your experiences.
