July Favourites

This month I have tried lots of new products that I have been extremely impressed with. I recently went into boots, lush, super drug and Debenhams and I managed to find a few bargains as well as being extremely naughty buying some Urban Decay products..(sorry bank account). I also have included my favourite songs and movies at the minute as music and films are such a big part of my life.

I am such a big fan of Lush. If i won the lottery, the first thing I would do is buy every single product in this shop. I am just obsessed with it. I really wanted to try a new moisturiser that would keep my face feeling smooth and refreshed during this hot weather so I went with the "enzymion facial moisturiser" which was £11.50. My first impressions were really positive, it really makes a difference to my face and makes it feel so much better. The only down-fall is the tub is so small that is will only last a few weeks, which is quite annoying when it is quite pricey. Overall, this is a really nice moisturiser I would defiantly recommended it if you are looking for a soothing cream that gives your face a glowing look and keeps it smooth through-out the day.

Recently, I have wanted to try a really good eye make up remover that was quite a good price as I didn't want to spend too much on a make-up remover. As I have never really tried any simple products I thought I would try this out as it was a really good price. There is no negative things that I could say about this as it is really good and it is certainly gets all of your make up off and leaves your eyes and lashes feeling really clean and fresh. I also like how it has added vitamins in this for your eyes which is an added bonus. There are a lot more expensive eye make up removers that may do a better job but I think that this one is perfect for £3.99

A brand that I have never really got to try is Urban Decay and I have always wanted to try the NAKED palettes so I thought I would take a trip into Debenhams this month to purchase this palette. I think the case for this is so attractive and has a really good look to it and I also like how all the shades have names. This also comes with some samples of their other eye products and comes with a really nice Urban Decay brush which is an added extra.

This palette is extremely pricey and I think that £37 is slightly over-priced for eye shadow but it is Urban Decay which is an extremely popular brand and I really think that all the shades are so pretty and really blend well with other colours. I also like how there is a mix of light and dark shades so there is a colour for every occasion as-well as the summer and winter.

The shadows stay on your eye-lids really well and don't fade like others and really stand out on your lids which I really like.

Overall, I really like this pallette and extremely enjoy testing and using the different shades. I would definitely recommend any of the palettes from Urban Decay.

I have always been a big fan of TRESemme products and wanted to try something that would take away any frizz after I had washed my hair. This is the perfect product for this as my hair has been a lot more calmer since using this and I have noticed a big difference. It is also a really good price and even cheaper in places such as 'discount UK' and is usually around £3 to £4 which is a brilliant price for something like this and you only need to use a drop in your hair every time so this will last quite a long time so you really get your moneys worth.

My new favourite shoes have to been these that I have purchased this month. These are from BLUE-INK and available for £25.99. I really think these are so trendy and go with so many different outfits. They are also suitable to wear in the day as-well as a night out. I am usually not that keen on heels but these are extremely comfortable and I really enjoy wearing them.

My favourite film of the month has to be "the fault in our stars." Recently I went to the cinema to watch this and I fell so in love with this film. It is defiantly my favourite film of 2014 so far. The story line is so touching and there are so many metaphors in this and so many inspirational films. It is a really good film and I know that just about anybody would like this film even though it really is a tear starter!

My favourite song of this month has to be Gecko - overdrive. This is such a party song and I love a song that makes me want to dance! I am really enjoying this song at the minute and it is defiantly a most-played song on my music playlist. If you haven't already listened to it then go and listen to it now!

Thank you for reading my blog,
I really hope you enjoyed it.
Leave any comments as I really enjoy any feedback.

12 Important Things That Girls Should Remember

1. You don't have to be look like all of these girl models and celebrities. You don't need to have their 'perfect body' that you see all over magazines and social media these days. Before these photo's are put into magazines or onto the internet they are photo-shopped an extreme amount just to make them look like they have perfect skin, and that size 6 body. I can almost guarantee you that they don't look like that when they have no filters over their face. So don't worry, you are perfect the way you are. Size does not matter, always remember that.
2. It's OK to treat yourself to that Big Mac or that full English breakfast. Dieting shouldn't be the main thing in your life, it can make you stressed and unhappy, be you and love the way you are.. Life is too short to worry about what you eat. Now go and eat some chocolate and be happy :)
3. If that boy doesn't like you, then leave him too it! Unfortunately, we have to date a lot of frogs before we find our prince.. and your prince is out there waiting for you. Don't waste your time on somebody that isn't worth it. Stop texting him first, and stop yourself from checking his twitter page (that can really wind you up!) You deserve somebody that gives you the time of day and can make you happy.. remember that.
4. You don't need to spend loads of money on make up and beauty products! There are a lot of high street brands that do exactly the same thing. Save your money, you never know when you might need it. :)
5. When you are alone, it's always good to turn your music on as loud as you can, dance and sing around your bedroom like you are a pop-star. It can make you feel good and can take your mind of the stress around you. :) go and do it!
6. It's better to have a few true friends than loads of fake ones. Don't worry if you don't have many friends compared to somebody else. Love and enjoy the friends you have already. If you feel you don't have a true friend that you can rely on, you will find that person eventually! We can create new friends at the weirdest of times. :)
7. Never give in to peer-pressure. If you don't feel like drinking alcohol, don't do it. If you are being forced to smoke and you don't want too, don't do it. You are your own person, if your friends don't respect that you don't want to do these type of things then they aren't your true friends.
8.  It's fine to cry once in a while, sometimes.. weirdly it can make you feel better. Life can be annoying at times and can sometimes get the better of you. A little cry shows you are human.
9. Drink water.. LOTS of water. I repeat.. LOTS OF WATER. Water is good for you, it can make your skin look better, and help your body in many of different ways. It may not taste as nice as a glass of coke but it's a lot better for you. Drink as much as you can!
10. It's fine to be single, if all of your friends are in relationships and you are the only single one.. don't worry about it. It does not mean you aren't as 'attractive' as them, it just simply means it's not your time to find the one yet. There may be a time when they are single and you are the only one in a relationship.
11. When you get into a relationship, don't ever forget about your friends! They were there before your boyfriend came along, and you'll expect them to be there for you if you split up with your current boyfriend. Still make time for them and be there for them if they need you.. friends are extremely important!
12. Remember the small things in life and do what makes you happy. Work hard for what you want and you will get there.

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss Collection

In this picture I have used a medium pink lipstick and added this lip gloss over
the top as I think it sets off a nice shiny look and it really works well!

After being such a fan of Tanya Burr and watching all of her you-tube video's I thought that it was a must to try out some of her lip gloss's as they all seemed so nice and they are actually an affordable price which I love! I decided to try the "afternoon tea" shade first as I am such a fan of pale pink lip gloss's and I was extremely pleased with this one. It stands out on your lips unlike some lip gloss's and it really sets your make up off and I think it is worth the money.

The only down-fall of this lip gloss is it does dry on your lips quite easily and can leave you with really weird lines which can be quite annoying. I'd certainly recommend re-applying the lip gloss every few hours! But I'd still buy this lip gloss again as it is such a nice shade.

I also think that some of the darker shades are really nice for evenings out and the medium pink shades will be perfect for hot summer days! Tanya Burr has really thought of really catchy names for all of her collection which I really like as it adds some character to them all instead of just calling them "red" and "pink" etc.. So I think she has put a lot of work into this collection and she has done extremely well!

Have you tried Tanya Burr's collection yet? which colour would you recommend? I would really like to try some different shades of hers, can you recommend the best one?

You can find Tanya Burr's lipgloss in most local super-drug stores and also you can find them on feelunique.com ( click this link to go straight to her lipgloss collection! ) also check her you-tube channel out by typing in "tanya burr" in the you tube video search bar.

Do you want to be a model?

The world of modelling.

Over the past few years I have been doing modelling and I have come across a lot of different things that people need to be aware of while trying to get into this industry so I thought I would share them with you all.

Because a lot of girls are so passionate about modelling and it seems to be every girls 'dream' there are a lot of scams and 'fake' modelling agencies that are around.. which try and get you to pay money to 'join their modelling agency' or offer you a professional photo shoot when they charge WAY too much money for you to have those photos!! Please all be aware that there are a lot of scams out there and you have to be careful with any agency that you join because it is very easy to get fooled and you COULD loose a lot of money.. do your RESEARCH, ask for RECOMMENDATIONS and NEVER pay out any money to join an agency.

Creating the 'perfect' portfolio.

Remember this.. You don't need to spend 1,000's of pounds trying to create a decent portfolio because a lot of agencies do not want to see loads of edited photo's that have been photo shopped to the max. What matters the most is how YOU look in the photo. You could easily use low budget photographers and still get amazing photo's. If you are SERIOUS about modelling there is a website called www.modelmayhem.com where you can create your own portfolio and look for photographers and make up artists in your area.. Some photographers will even do it for free if they feel it will benefit their portfolio. But please remember, do not be fooled with some photographers that offer to pay you to do 'topless' or 'underwear' shoots.. These are people you need to stay away from. If you are unsure on the photographer ask them to recommend a model they have previously worked with. Try and get some natural photo's with different looks such as different hairstyles and types of modelling such as fashion/beauty modelling.. Baring in mind that it depends what type of modelling you'd like to go into. Make sure you think about the poses you do in each photo.. Look natural, look confident, look professional.. If you do them things agencies will pick up on how confident you are straight away!! Try and get as many different looks as you can into your portfolio as this will show that you are able to do many of different types of shoots.

Applying for agencies - what if they don't reply?

Some agencies DO NOT ask for a professional portfolio.. they will simply ask for a natural head shot of you. So before you start applying for any agencies make you have a simple head-shot of your self without make up and have a clear view of your face.. Also be sure of your height and measurements because a lot of measurements will want to know about this. Don't be upset if they don't reply.. A lot of agencies receive too many applications and are unable to reply to all. Also, you may not be the right look for one agency but you may be perfect to another so NEVER give up. Keep trying, if it's mean't to be it will happen! The modelling inudstry is a real hard thing to get into because it is so competitive and so many people want to do it.. so you have to work hard for this! If they email back or ring you saying there is a charge to join the agency DO NOT do it.. THIS IS A SCAM. Don't give your credit card details to them !!!!! An agency will pay you to be in their agency. Always remember that girls!! Don't be fooled.

Pageants/competitions

Pageants are something that I've never been sure of, I always think that there are better ways to get into modelling without having to put yourself under so much pressure..I also find that other girls in these type of things can be quite bitchy towards you because it's so competitive and they want to win so much.. It can sometimes ruin your confidence and put you off and it's very rare that you will get a highly successful modelling career from doing one of these unless you are doing Miss England or something. Plus it can be quite expensive to afford those big dresses that they all wear and to get your hair done. Is it worth it? I don't actually think it is. The only good thing about it as SOME pageants give their money to charities.. which is great as it's for a good cause. I just think that it can be quite a challenge for somebody who isn't full of confidence and can be quite nerve racking.

There are a lot of 'Facebook' competitions that I see where you have to get all of your friends to like your photo and whoever gets the most likes wins.. Why? I don't see how this is fair. The most popular girls wins because she has way too many facebook friends/followers.. But there were probably a lot better than them who simply weren't as popular. This may seem an 'easy' way to get into modelling but some-times it's just for a prize and it's very rarely for a highly successful modelling agency.. and it can be very stressful trying to get every single person on your friends list to like the photo. It's just not worth it... I do like these competitions on websites though where somebody is actually chosen by a professional and you are offered with a years contract with a modelling agency.. Those competitions are a lot more worthy of your time so look out for those ones and make sure you apply.

If you are ambitious and have a passion for modelling, never give up.. some agencies won't reply but try others! Some photographers may not be what you are looking for.. But there are others. Get your name out there and gain some experience!

Please let me know your thoughts on what I have wrote here. What do you think about the modelling industry? Have you had any bad experiences? Do you need any help? Leave me a comment and I shall be happy to help!

My favourite make up products and techniques.

I love make up and I am obsessed with trying different brands and I am forever trying new techniques. But, One thing I hate about make up products are the price! I know in these days there are a lot of people that struggle to be able to afford 'expensive make up' and all these designer products that all these celebrities seem to use. It doesn't have to be that complicated because I have found some pretty affordable make up products that you can all use and it won't break your bank account! So if you're interested in make up, or you simply just fancy a read.. Check this out.

Cheap and amazing products that I love!

Firstly, I'd like to start off with recommending the Rimmel London foundation. I have been using this foundation for such a long time.. I just love it. There are plenty of different shades so you can find your perfect one and also it gives you a good coverage for bad skin and it doesn't start to feel 'heavy' and 'greasy' through out the day. It also is kind to your skin and won't bring you out in spots if you use it every- day like me.. which is what I love about this foundation! It makes your skin look smooth and it does not make you look 'orange' like some foundations do!! It is defenitly a must buy and also.. wait for it.. It's only £7.99. How brilliant? A perfect foundation that keeps your skin looking fresh throughout the day for under a tenner? Yes please!

Yes here is a picture of me with the foundation on! I use the 'nude' shade.

Another favourite of mine are the MUA make up products which are available from Super drug (and probably every store that sells make up in your local town) but if you are unable to find any then they do have a website that you can order them off! But superdrug forever have a buy one get one free sale for these products so I would recommend that shop for these products!!
I have recently tried the eye-shadow palette and I was so impressed. The colours are strong and they blend really easily. The darker colours are my favourite and I use them on a day to day basis and I will usually blend a few darker colours together. Every colour is strong and even the lighter colours stand out clearly which I love.. The 'blue' is perfect for a nice summer day when you want your make up to stand out! The darker colours are also perfect for a winters day when you want that 'smoky eye look' so this palette has a lot to offer and can be used for many different occasions. The palettes are only £4.00 and have a range of different colours. Personally, I think that these are just as good as the 'naked' pallete at a much affordable price. The eye-liner is also really effective and I prefer this one to the Rimmel London eyeliner and it is a lot more affordable!

Calling all Nail Varnish lovers!!!..

As a girly girl, I love trying different nail varnishes and I'm forever painting my nails different colours.. So i thought I would share my favourite brand with you!!

It was a certain must that I mention my love for 'Models-Own' Nail varnish!! This is a really popular brand and I've heard a lot of people rave about all the different varnishes so I thought I would give them a go!! With nail varnishes I find that some just don't stay on and easily come off but with this brand I've found that it does last a long time! They also do a good range of different colours which I love so you have a good choice of what to buy (the ones with glitter are on certainly my favourite)

Have you ever dreamed of dark smoky eyes but are too afraid to use liquid eye liner? Well I have just the trick!!

So for ages and ages, I've practised using liquid eyeliner and I can never get it in a 'straight line' or one eye would be different to the other.. Or i'd just look like a complete freak. So I decided to try something different. Here is a step by step guide on achieving  that perfect eyeliner stroke!! :-)

Things you will need: Black eye shadow, the number 6 No7 Make up brush (or any thin make up brush that will allow you to a straight line)

Step 1: Get your make up brush and add some black eye shadow on to the brush
Step 2: Close one of your eyes and gently run it across your eye where the eye line is ( just above your eye lashes)
Step 3: Add some more black eye shadow on to your brush and then add a flick on to the end.
Step 4: Repeat this on the other eye (obviously) and then go over it until it is dark enough!

Then you are DONE!! It's a lot more simple that having liquid eyeliner as that requires a lot of patience(something I don't have) I'm sure this technique will be a lot easier!!

If you are wondering.. Where do I get the black eye shadow from? Where do I get the brush from? Then don't worry. There is a black eye shadow included in the MUA Make up palette but they are also available from different make up stores. I use the No7 Make up brush set which is also available from boots/super drug or any beatties store(They are really worth the price!)

Blending eye shadow..

This is something I always get asked about.. It can be really tricky and it does require a lot to get the right look! First what you need to do is make sure that you have the right brushes.. as some will not do the job correctly. My favourite make up brushes are the No7 brushes.. (they aren't even that expensive for the set - check them out). The second thing you need to remember is picking the right colours.. you need to think about what is going to blend right as some will just create a really weird colour and you don't want that. My favourite colours to blend are dark browns and cream colours. Start off with putting the dark colour just above your eyelashes and then use your blending brush and gently rub the colours together on your eye.. be careful not to use too much of the darker eye shadow as this will take over the lighter colour and then it will just look a little crazy. If you want a summer look a pink and blue really go well together. Start off with putting the blue above your eyelashes and then put the pink just above and mix them together in the middle (this is so hard to explain) But trust me it works and looks great in those summer days.. Or even if you're off out with your friends and need a bright colourful look! Try them out.

What eye-shadow is best for your eye colour?
It is always best to go opposite to what your eye colour is on the colour wheel. If you have blue eyes.. darker colours will make your eyes stand out more such as dark browns/dark green. If you have dark eyes go for something bright like a pale pink. I also think that practising at home in your spare time is always useful.. Practice blending and try different colours. Don't be afraid to try new things! It may end up looking really nice.

I've tried to keep this blog pretty simple and just give you a few idea's.. Please leave me a comment on what you think and what your idea's are I would love to know!
