Meet my pet

Everybody meet my dog George! This was a photo of him when he was only 8 weeks old (he is now 5 years old, where does the time go!) George was such a shy little dog when we first had him, but now he is full of confidence and understands so many different words that I say, such as the park and of course walkie s! They say that your dog becomes a member of your family and becomes a big part of your life, I totally 100% agree with this, my dog is my best friend!

Here are some more photo's of what he looks like now, how much has he grown up?!

Dip Dye Hair And New Beginnings

I can't believe that we're already into a month of 2015 already, where does the time go? I haven't been able to blog recently, I started the year with the worst flu I've ever had, I literally did think that I was going to die (I'm so bad with over exaggerating) and then my mom managed to break her ankle two weeks ago, so I've been helping around the house doing lots of boring things like cleaning up (ah!). But now things have calmed down, I have decided to start doing some blog posts again, over christmas I invested in a lot of new products, that I can't wait to blog about!

My new hair style
My hair is so important to me, so I was a bit nervous deciding to have it dip dyed! But after months and months of not knowing what to do I decided to finally go for it! I also decided to go for a full fringe which was MAJOR for me! After a few months I think that I have finally grown to like it though and plan to have the blonde more lighter and stronger over the next upcoming weeks!

University and moving away
I decided last year that I wanted to study to work as a professional counsellor, to mainly help people who suffer with mental health problems. It was such a hard thing to decide, such as picking which university to attend and considering if I'd have enough UCA's points and essential grades.

The panic is over! I have recently received an unconditional offer from a university in Swansea, which is 5 hours away from my home town but I have decided to be independent and go for it! I am also waiting for other offers, but it's looking like I will be moving away this September to start my degree in "Counselling Psychology" which is extremely exciting!!

Growing up struggles

I haven't written a non beauty post for a while, but recently I've come to a stage in life where I've had to make some tough decisions and it's made me realise that growing up and becoming an adult can be quite tough.

2014 has taught me a lot of things. It has made me realise that I should have tried harder in school, if only I could have gone back a few years and tried a little harder in my GCSE's. But, how are you meant to realise how important a qualification could be when you are only 18 and still have a lot to learn in life? It has also made me realise that relationships don't last forever, friendships don't always last forever and things can change and some times they can change in a way which you don't like, and you just have to accept that.

Through out my life, I've never really known what I wanted to do career wise. I've been through many of college courses and I've never really felt that they were for me. But this year I have realised that I have a passion for helping people and those with mental health problems so I decided to apply to university. As I have never really researched higher education before, I didn't really know how to go about it and applying individually didn't make it much easier. As I chose not to do my A levels or a level 3 BTEC, I have found that I probably won't be able to study any time soon. Which is really annoying, as I'm sure it's quite common not to know what you want to do as a career while you are still growing up yourself. How can one qualification I decided not to study a few years ago suspend me from doing what I love now? But I guess that sometimes, it's important to remember that you have to work yourself from the bottom to achieve the best. So if I am not able to go to university in September 2015, I won't give up. I shall keep on trying until I finally graduate in counselling so I can help other people. It's just annoying that some times things don't work out the way you want them too, while you watch others easily find success.

2014 has taught me that relationships and friendships are some times going to end, and that is for the best. I have learn't this year that I can be independent, and I don't need many of friends to be happy in my self. I can be perfectly happy with my family members around me and a few special friends that I can truly rely on. Things always work out how they are meant to be.

Everything that happens is a lesson in a life, and 2014 has been a big lesson for me!

Happy New Year

2015 To Do List

With 2015 around the corner, I decided to make a list of things that I would like to achieve. I always find that making a list is such a good way to motivate yourself and I just can't wait to start making these things come true.

1. Go to university - This has been something that I have always been wanting to do, but I haven't been sure on what course to do. But finally, I have set my heart on a course and I have chosen to study a counselling physiology degree, if they'll accept me! So by the end of next year I hope to be a university student on my way to graduating.
2. Go travelling - The thought of travelling the world excites me so much, but unfortunately, that would cost rather a lot of money and I am awful at saving. So I have set my heart on going to Thailand or America for a few months, either just to stay in hostels or to volunteer in places and work my way around. This is something that I really want to do next year and I can't wait to make this happen!
3. Volunteer as a counsellor - I am really passionate about helping people through hard times and those who suffer with depression/anxiety so I have decided to volunteer as a counsellor so i can gain strong experience to go along side my degree. This will make me happy knowing that I have done something positive with my time and helped somebody out of a hard time. :)
4. Be more healthy and join a gym - The thought of being healthy seems way too hard for me, I'd much rather stick a pizza in the oven and eat loads of chocolate. But I have decided that being healthy should be really important to be and I should exercise more as this will improve my moods! So I am determined to eat a lot healthier, drink lots more water and exercise as much as I can.
5. Spend more time with the people that mean the most - It's the little things in life that mean the most, and I always feel that I don't spend enough time with loved ones! It means a lot to me to just sit with my family or friends, have a meal or just spend quality time with them. You know never what is around the corner, so it's important to spend as much time as you can with people that mean a lot to you!

What will be on your 2015 to do list?

Friends make everything better

Friends are so important in life and sometimes all you need is quality time with one of your besties to make yourself feel 100x times better. These are a few of my best friends and some of our favourite "selfies" (including some very weird and crazy ones!) Danielle (in the first & second photo) is my number one friend who'm I have known SO long now.. we've had many of crazy holidays including Cyprus and are currently organising a lot more!

A true friend is somebody that helps you through the hard times and makes you laugh no matter how you may feel. A friend is somebody that you may not talk too every day, but you'll always know that they'll be there for you. Yay for friends!

Family Fun

So this week I spent the week in Wales (porthcrawl) with my family. Sometimes, I really enjoy getting away from day to day life and spending some time with the people that mean the most in life. Being by the beach is my favourite place to be in the world and I am extremely jealous of anybody that actually lives by a beach. Do I really have to go back to reality?!

I also took the chance to visit the Primark in Swansea and the ELF store in Cardiff so I shall be blogging about purchases I brought from there in the next few days.

Hope you all had a good week, what did you get up too?

Summer day in the woods

It's so nice to get away and to spend the day in a peaceful and calming environment. Living in the city, it's rare that I am able to get away from every-day life to spend the day with loved ones and just enjoy the view. This weekend.. myself, parents and the dog (of course) jetted off to the country side for two days! Usually, I turn down the opportunity to spend quality time with my parents as I think "meh, boring!" but I've realised that spending quality time with your family is so precious and we should cherish all the opportunity's we get and sometimes it can really help left your spirits. We even managed to catch the last bit of sun before the rain started falling and what a glorious day it was!

What have you guys been up too this weekend?

Improving your confidence

Being confident is such a big thing in this day and age. We need to be confident every day in everything we do so it can be quite challenging when confidence is something you don't have. Through growing up being confident and out-going was something I always struggled with, being shy seemed to take over and this made growing up even more difficult than it already was. People don't realise how common being shy is and you aren't alone in feeling like that. It's always the worst when your friends are extremely confident and you are the odd one out for not being as loud and as bubbly as them, but it isn't the end of the world. Confidence isn't given to you on a plate, it all comes with experience and pushing yourself to get out there and do new things. The main thing is to keep on trying and remember you don't have to be like anybody else, as long as you are yourself.

Steps to confidence

1. Believe in yourself, when you put yourself to it you can do anything you want too. If you push yourself, you can do it. This will improve your confidence in no time.
2. Never worry about what other people think. It's rare that people are even going to think about you but over-thinking can make it seem like that. Just make sure that you are doing the right thing and never play attention to any negative comments, as long as it makes you happy that is all that matters.
3. Love yourself the way you are. Everybody has their different styles, different image etc but that does not mean anybody is better than another individual. Everybody is beautiful in their own little way and so are you, so love yourself.. look in the mirror and tell yourself that every single day.
4. Think positively and confidently. Think about what you are good at and remember them. Always look on the bright side of things and remember compliments that people give you.
5. Use eye contact and strong body language. Eye contact is important while having a conversation with somebody and it will make you appear a lot more confident. Don't cross your arms or legs. Be open and make sure you look approachable!
6. Smile. Would you really want to talk to somebody that looks moody? Smiling can change a lot of things and it can make us better about ourselves.
7. Surround yourself with positive and happy people, happiness can make you feel a lot more confident. It's important to have happy people around you that are going to make you feel comfortable around them. Get rid of people that bring you negativity in your life.

Confidence can be a tricky thing, it comes with experience and improving the way you think. Never give up. It gets easier.

My birthday and holiday week!

I don't know why but I always get a little bit too excited for my birthday, I've never really known why we celebrate being another year older but I just find it so exciting. I count down the days like a little child counting down the days until Christmas and before I know it it's all over.. so this year I thought I'd try and do as much as possible for it. A few days before I decided to have a night out with all of my closest friends and boyfriend, which was a really good night as these days I never really get to go clubbing. I also decided to go on holiday for the week just to make it a little bit more special. I love going to the sea-side, a walk by the beach clears my mind and makes me so happy and it means a lot to me living in the Midlands as it's so far to travel to a beach so it's hard for me to visit one.

My night out was really fun, it felt weird because people actually came out JUST for my birthday so I felt extremely loved and blessed to have lovely friends that made in effort just for my night. I went on holiday with my parents and boyfriend.. And dog ( exciting I know ) but it was pretty good to relax and not have to go to work for a week. As of every holiday I go on, I always take way too many photo's but I love keeping them just to remember the memories we made so I thought I'd share them on here.

Another birthday has gone and I am glad that I made the most of it. Now to wait another year until my next birthday!
